Our proposed plan for the site includes a 2500 square foot experimental library building as well as a two bay garage. Our intention is to develop the site at 249 Croton Dam Road as lightly as possible in order to preserve the tranquil environment, while also making it accessible and welcoming. The Metropolitan New York Library Council have engaged the following consulting team to help with this work:
- Keith Betensky, Land Use Attorney and General Counsel for the Library Field project
- Leads communications with the town of New Castle permitting agencies
- Peter Gregory, DTS Provident, Civil Engineer
- Overall site planning
- Coordination with WCDOH on septic and well (public water supply) permits
- Michael Macri, GMCEPC, Structural Engineer
- Stone bridge analysis
- Jeri Barret, Landscape Architect
- Wetlands mitigation, tree replacement plan, landscape
- Marble Fairbanks
- Pro bono conceptual architectural renderings for town meetings
Additionally, we are currently hiring a Library Field Ranger, our first full time position at the site.
