Help us build the vision for the Library Field!
Join METRO staff for a guided 45-minute hike, where you can learn about the Library Field site and share your ideas for work we can do together in this unique environment. The hike has 16 points of interest, including historic structures, natural features, anticipated building sites, and more. You’ll receive a METRO tote bag with a Field Guide booklet, a pencil, and other gifts at the start of the hike. We’ll ask you to record some of your thoughts and ideas in the Field Guide, and then we will mail it back to you a couple of weeks later. There will be a screened-in tent and a picnic table at the site where we can rest and reflect together, and while the hike itself is 45 minutes you are welcome to spend up to 2 hours exploring, conversing, or simply relaxing alongside us.
We will group participants into small groups of 2-5 people. If you would like to indicate that another person has registered and that you wish to be in the same group as them, please make note of their name on the form and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Location: The Library Field (meet in the parking lot at the Sunny Ridge Preserve: 225 Croton Dam Rd. Ossining, NY 10562)
You are responsible for your own transportation to the Library Field site. If you are coming from NYC, you can take the Metro North railroad to either Croton Harmon or Ossining. From the Croton Harmon station, you can catch a taxi to the site (taxis are always waiting at the station). From Ossining, you should try an Uber or a Lyft.
